Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 21, 2026

This policy explains what information A Necessary Murder collects, how it's used, and how it's protected. It applies to this website, all reading and membership services, and any form submitted through it.

What We Collect

Contact information. Name and email, collected at signup, checkout, or intake.

Birth data. Date, time, and location of birth, submitted for chart-based readings.

Personal history. Anything submitted as part of an intake, a journal for The Archive, or written answers for The Vigil, The Ledger, or the blind trial. This may include sensitive personal, health, or mental health information, submitted voluntarily by the client.

Payment information. Handled entirely by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our own systems.

Website usage data. Standard technical data such as browser type and general location, collected automatically by hosting and analytics tools.

How We Use It

To build and deliver readings, maps, and written materials. To process payment. To communicate about an order, a subscription, or a request. Never sold to third parties, never used for advertising targeting outside this site.

How We Store And Protect It

Client submissions and delivered materials are stored in password-protected cloud storage, with access limited to the site owner. Reasonable technical and administrative safeguards are used to protect stored data, though no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and this cannot be guaranteed as absolute.

Data Retention

Client submissions and delivered materials are retained for as long as the client relationship is active, or up to three years after last contact, whichever is longer, unless deletion is requested sooner. Blind trial participant data is deleted on request, consistent with the consent given at signup.

Delivered readings, maps, and written materials become the client's property upon delivery. While we retain copies where reasonably practical, clients are responsible for saving and maintaining their own copies of anything delivered to them. See the Terms of Service for the full liability terms on this point.

Your Rights

You can request a copy of what we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, or request deletion of your data, at any time, by using the contact form. Deletion requests will be honored except where retention is required for legal, tax, or dispute-resolution purposes.

Third-Party Services

Payment processing, email delivery, and website hosting are handled by third-party providers, each governed by their own privacy practices. We do not control and are not responsible for their policies.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

Changes To This Policy

This policy may be updated as the business changes. Material changes will be noted with an updated date at the top of this page.
